Kalia Pearl’s 1st Birthday

I’ve been saying it all this week… I cannot believe my baby is ONE!  My hidden gem, as I call you because in the beginning you gave us a ectopic scare when the doctor couldn’t find you on ultrasound until about 2 weeks (and many blood draws) later! My sweet little Kalia, Kia, Lia, Pearl, Mouse, Bantot… lol yes the baby with so many nicknames! How I wish I can keep you small for just a little bit longer! But you have a personality all of your own as you constantly show big sister Eva that you’re not one to be messed with! You’re walking, you’re crawling, you’re climbing and you are just all over the place!  You also eat so much! And you’re willing to try anything, but your dad and I are constantly wondering where it’s all going in your skinny little frame. You’ve been smiling since you were 1 day old and I hope that sweet, care free personality follows you throughout your life. And as always.. please remember that mommy, daddy, and big sister Eva love you so very much!

We decided to hold Kalia’s 1st birthday one week early to avoid the chaos of the Memorial Day weekend festivities at Irvine Regional Park. The party area, the Locomotive Loop, was somewhat private and surrounded by the little train tracks which created a nice ambiance to the circus and Casey Jr. feel.

We also teamed up with Linsey of Lux Events and Design again to bring this party to life. With past parties, it use to take me a good three months to party plan and prepare, but now with two kiddos under two… that just ain’t possible! So thank goodness for Linsey and her attention to detail and  for bringing it all together!

If you don’t know me by now.. I’m a sucker for sweets..

Tricia of Cakes by Tricia Faye baked and iced those Dumbo cookies on the bottom left! We’ve been using her baking services ever since Eva was a little bun in the oven! She never disappoints with her talent!
